I was raised in Annandale, MN, where my dad is the town family medicine doctor and my mom is a teacher. There are a lot of different elements in family medicine that I really enjoy and it offers me the opportunity and flexibility to pursue my interests. I chose this residency program for the supportive warm environment with close bonds that I wanted from a residency. I like the rural side of residency because it is an interest of mine and gives me the opportunity to live in the really nice towns of Amery and New Richmond, which would offer independence and exposure to a large variety of conditions and ailments. I love history, hiking, learning languages, drinking a nice cup of tea, and reading. Traveling is a passion I share with my wife, who spent her childhood wandering extensively worldwide.
